In Lesson 10 (see attached summary), Paul told us that our fleshly nature stands in opposition to God's Spirit. That sounds a little serious. doesn't it? Being in opposition to God? Well, yeah, it is serious, deadly serious. Do we want a life controlled by our fleshly nature? Paul describes what that looks like in Gal. 5:19-21, and it isn't pretty. If we want something different, we should not expect God's Spirit to come into our lives and take over. That's not the way He works. But if we want something different, we can freely choose to walk with the Spirit (Gal. 5:16), be led by the Spirit (Gal. 5:18), and live by the Spirit (Gal. 5:25); and the Spirit's fruit (Gal. 5:22-23) will grow and become evident in our lives.
