As Christians, we often sing and speak of God's amazing grace; but in Lesson 5 (see attached summary), we discussed how God's righteousness can also be pretty amazing in itself.   In Galatians 3:6-9, Paul uses a story about Abraham recorded in Genesis 15 to teach us that God wants us to believe in Him and His Son, to take Him at His word, and to trust Him, and God accepts that faith and counts us as righteous even though we are not.  In that sense, righteousness, like grace, is something we receive from God and not something we achieve through our efforts.  God can always be counted on to do the right thing, and Paul can think of no greater expression of God's righteousness than the gift of His Son to rescue us from the oppression of our sins and the sins of others.  In Lesson 6, Paul will tell us that we must learn to live by our faith; and oh, BTW, he means faith in God not in ourselves.  I hope you can be part of the class this Sunday as we discuss:

Faith, Promises, and Law (Gal. 3:10-24)
