Attached you will find the summary for Lesson 7. In a message of good news, Paul gives us the best news in Gal. 3:26-29. God does not merely desire to forgive us, justify us in His sight, and give us peace. He has no desire to rescue us from this present evil age to be His slaves. Through Jesus, God seeks to adopt us into His family and treat us as sons, or legal heirs, with Jesus. He wants a close, intimate father/child relationship with each of us, one which causes us to cry out “Abba, Father” (Gal. 4:6). Most of us have heard that many times. We may have been taught it all of our lives. Have both the "good" and the "new" worn off in the good news of the gospel? Paul is determined to keep the gospel fresh in the minds of the Galatians. We would be wise to listen.
Paul has much to tell the Galatians about freedom in Christ. We will begin that discussion this Sunday as we discuss:
Lesson 8: Gospel Freedom, Oxymoron or Not? (Gal. 4:8-31)
Hope to see you in class.
